HEADTEACHER RESIGNS!

Dear all,

You may have already heard that the Headteacher at UAK has resigned as of last Friday (9th Dec 2011). We should welcome that the Headteacher has stepped down to make way for leadership who can take the school forward.  Obviously this is only the beginning and the next step is for a delegation of parents to meet with the school Governors to set expectations on the aspirations of where we want this school to be and therefore the challenges and outcome we would expect from any new leadership.

If you would like to be part of the delegation please respond via email with any phone contact details.

Best regards UAK Parents

How can the current management improve results into the 50's if they only managed a tiny increase in the last 5 years?

Useful Info - School Policies and your rights as parents

By law schools have to have policies in place which parents should have access to. These policies govern the conduct of many important aspects of school life including uniform, complaints procedure, child protection, curriculum etc. The full list of policies that the school must provide are listed in the guide to law for School governors

A Guide to the Law for School Governors 2010, DfE, see pages 238-241 (Adobe pdf file) Link here

UAK policies are listed on their website. Did you know that they were there? Did staff ever mention these when dealing with you as a parent? If you are not happy about how you have been dealt with then did you know that you can complain?

Ever feel that even when you complained your complaint was not dealt with fairly or investigated properly. Did you know that you can escalate/appeal - all the way to the secretary of state for education.
